Love, Kristen M.
I sent you an email on your last birthday and never heard back from you. I didn't think too much of it until I heard the news that you were gone. I immediately checked my email to see if maybe I missed your reply, but soon realized that I had carelessly sent it to your old email address. How awful it felt when I realized that my message didn't reach you. Of course, I was asking for some advice, but was also catching you up on my goings on. I wrote how I longed to see you again and I how much I love you. I wish I would have been better about keeping in touch with you. In spite of this, I always felt yours and Lilian's love from the opposite side of the globe, which has brought me great comfort. I've never stopped feeling Lilian's love, so I know yours will continue on as well.
I have the most vivid memory of you from when you visited our home when I was little girl. There isn't much to it really, you walk towards me down the hall and smile at me. I can close my eyes and see you perfectly. It's remarkable how you and Lilian extended your love to those you were separated from. I can only imagine how much your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are feeling your absence right now, but how lucky they are to be yours! Be well, and give Aunty Lilian a kiss from Kristen.
All my love,
Kristen Martinez
